Is Humanities really easier than Science and has no scope at all?

The answer to the question in a single word is NO!
Studying Humanities is equally onerous as science and commerce are. People (generally from Science stream) usually develop an idea that humanities are just about reading and mugging up the facts and figures which in real sense is never true.

1. You have History and Political Science which require your understanding and remembering skills at a huge extent. You simply can't remember all the major events happened during over past 5000 years in history without understanding and linking things together nor can you get good grades in Political Science by mugging up the whole constitution and contemporary world political events, for that too you need a logical understanding of things!

2. Then you've Geography & Economics which are nearly 80% conceptual (especially Geography). The approach here is totally different from what it was with History and Pol. Science, so students need to develop their mind in this new second dimension too.

3. The Humanities' textbooks (of NCERT) are more lengthy and cumbersome as compared to any other stream of class 11th and 12th.

It is just the mentality of Indians which makes the Science stream superior to Humanities. Let us divide science into 2 parts for the sake of simplicity: Engineering and Medical.

Presently, Engineering is in shambles in India. It is because the supply outstrips the demand. The average income of an Engineer lies somewhere around ₹25k per month. Is it enough? Or Justifiable compared to your 4 years of hard work. Yes, there are the top 10% of engineers who get decent jobs or have their startup. Overall, doing engineering is no more a status symbol, it used to be. People consider it superior because mainly the studious children take up science. There is no assured guarantee of a future for engineers. This is the reason why engineers do MBA after Engineering. So is it superior ?? I don't think so...

Studying Biology has a scope which is much better than Engineers. It is because there are not very much doctors in India or in similar fields. Therefore, if people consider this as superior, I would agree with them. It is a respectable course and has a good future...

On the other hand, Humanities has a lot more options than Science or Commerce. Indians consider Humanities students as inferior since they think only failures or lazy or student with poor grades take up this stream. Once you tell them the opportunities associated with Humanities, they will give you an equal amount of respect. Humanities students have a wide range of choices ranging from Fashion designing, Hotel Management, Graphics Designing, Modeling, Singing, Dancing to Teaching and a lot more! There is a lot of demand for these talents since Modern India is growing. The mentality of people needs to change. Nowadays, the Government is promoting Art, Culture, and the Tradition of our country and for that, they need more people from such a background! At last, I just wanna say, society has to accept this very fact that our nation and even the world needs human resources equally from all these three streams, i.e., Science, Commerce, and Humanities/Arts for a better tomorrow :)
